Professor Fortunato de la Peña and Dr. Josette Biyo led the unveiling of the PSHSSMC 25th Anniversary Memento.
Just over a year since the “Takbo, Isko, Takbo!” Fun Run, the Philippine Science High School-Southern Mindanao Campus (PSHS-SMC) community painted the streets with their signature blue and black jerseys again last July 7, 2013. Dubbed as the Silver Run, it was organized by the Philippine Science High School-Southern Mindanao Campus Foundation, Inc. (PSHSSMCFI) to benefit grantees of their Golden Hearts Club, Thinking Minds, and the Faculty Development programs. The event also kicked off the school’s 25th Foundation anniversary.
The Silver Run attracted 846 runners who converged at the People’s Park, eager to take on the three race courses namely, the 3-kilometer course, the 5-kilometer course, and the 10-kilometer course. The 3-kilometer course passed through Pelayo St., E. Quirino Ave., Tionko Ave., and F. Torres St. (in front of the Archbishop’s Palace) before going back. Five-kilometer racers passed through the same route but continued on to Pryce Park and then to J.P. Laurel Ave. (near the National Bureau of Investigation Office) before going back the same way. The 10-kilometer course took racers along the same route and all the way to JMC Motors in Lanang before they headed back to People’s Park.
