Sci-Wings,  the official English school paper of the Philippine Science High School Southern Mindanao Campus,  was awarded 6th place in Science and Technology section, secondary level, during the  National Schools Press Conference held at Pagadian City, Zamboanga Peninsula last January 22-25, 2017.

Getting into the sixth place was no mean  feat considering there were about 180 papers competing and the judging criteria rather stiff and exacting.

Asked what contribted to their win, Ms. Sheila M. Allong, the adviser and coached answered:

“We focused on local scientific breakthroughs and researches, particularly those that were done by the Pisay scholars”.

“The recognition  is a pat on the back for everyone who spent sleepness nights to come up with quality school paper on time.  It means our hard work pays off and it encourages us to do to even better   next time.”  Ms. Allong added.

The National Schools Press Conference is one of the biggest annual writing competition organized by the Department of Education.
