The IRML is an extension of the Amerian Regions Mathematics League (ARML) and has been inviting students from other countries like Moscow, Canada, Taiwan, the Philippines, Macau, Hongkong, China, Vietnam and Cambodia to compete annually in the USA.

The three students, who comprised the Team 1 of the Philippine Team, came home with medals and certificates. They trained under the Mathematics Trainers' Guild, Philippines or the MTG.
