On one hand, PSHS-SMC Batch Livewires 1997 also organized their own donation drive to fund PPEs for the front liners in the war against COVID particularly in Davao.

Mr. Casas added that apart from financial assistance, different batches also offered donations in kind and in terms of services.  Batch 1994, for one, care of Ms. Rodgessa Lopez, donated leather punchers and intitial set of acetate.

PSHS-SMC Batch 93 represented by Ms. Chin Nobleza, Mr. Jonah Nobleza and Ms. Dindin Velasco personally visited the school last March 30, 2020 and donated sanitizers and disinfectants and promised to follow thermal scanners and spray bottles soon.

“I am also proud to say that we have a lot of alumni doctors all over the country. One notable alumna contributing to the efforts to fight COVID-19 is Dr. Lyre Anni Murao, a viroulogist heading the Philippine Genome Center in UP Mindanao who is working on making their lab an accredited COVID testing center. Dr. Murao is also working with other Pisay-SMC alumni in her lab,” the Alumni president said.

The school and the PSHS-SMC PPE production team headed by Engr. Michael Nalitan expressed gratefulness for all of the assistance, support, and even moral boosting which gratefully allay in making their target of producing 650++ sets of face shields for different hospitals, quarantine facilities, and health centers slowly come into fruition.

Up to this post, the SMC team still continues with its production. Likewise, the whole PSHS System also launches a nationwide outreach activity called “Pisayuda: Syensya Para sa Bayan”.

Thus, as how Mr. Casas put it, “I would like to call on all our alumni of PSHS-SMC to do whatever we can, big or small, to support our front liners in the fight against COVID-19. We are all in this together and together, we will win this. God bless us all.”
