Originally, the conduct of the qualifying exam for lateral entry for incoming Grade 8 and Grade 9 students was set on May 11, 2020 with the deadline for submission of application to different PSHS campuses calendared on April 29, 2020.
Now, with the COVID-19 crisis and the ongoing enhanced community quarantine in Luzon and other regions in the country, the exam was moved to May 22, 2020 and the deadline of submission on May 8, 2020.

A number of alumni readily extended helping hands especially upon knowing that the Philippine Science High School Southern Mindanao Campus’ own PPE production team was calling for donations for materials needed in the making of face shield and intubation box.
The PSHS-SMC Alumni Association even served as channels where donors put in money for the procurement of additional materials for PPE making. Indeed, considerable amount of monetary assistance poured in.
“Yes, for those who inquired, we made them deposit their donations via the bank account of Philippine Science High School – SMC Alumni Association in Sterling Bank of Asia,” Mr. Michael Casas, the Alumni President, relayed via Fb messenger.
